In October 2025, Institute TOMS in cooperation with FINGRI company successfully commissioned a pilot vertical mill for fine grinding testworks.
Institute TOMS took part in the international scientific symposium Miner’s Week 2025 held by MISIS University, February 3–7. The specialists of Mining audit and consulting department delivered a report on advanced approaches to create geometallurgical block models and assess process variability of ores.
Process design criteria
Institute TOMS has been involved in development of process design criteria documents for more than 25 years. The document is a basis for design works and comprises a process flowsheet, conditions and parameters, equipment, layouts, balances developed considering such input data as:
- ore description;
- metallurgical balance;
- material balance;
- monitoring and sampling;
- energy supply;
- environment;
- comminution;
- processing;
- metallurgy;
- reagents;
- tailings;
- water cycle; and
- drainage.
Process design criteria are used for development of mining feasibility study and at every stage of design works (scoping study, FS, basic design and detailed documentation) as a primary written document for design engineers and as a guidance for future work.
Institute TOMS develops process design criteria for design of processing and metallurgical plants targeted at recovery of gold, silver, copper, iron, carbon, tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, niobium, zinc, lead, and other valuables. The worked out processes have been successfully implemented in mining industry.
