Institute TOMS in collaboration with LITS company successfully commissioned a wet high intensity magnetic separator (WHIMS). After our specialists сompleted the training, TOMS laboratory was accredited to run test works using this equipment.

Institute TOMS took part in an annual contest “Russian Mining Award”
Institute TOMS took part in an annual contest “Russian Mining Award” (https://2023.minexrussia.com/rossijskaya-gornaya-nagrada/) which is informally called “Mining Oscar”. The contest is aimed at an independent evaluation and promotion of the best achievements in various fields of mining and processing industry. In 2023, the contest was held in ten nominations.
Metalloinvest, Institute TOMS and MISIS became winners in the nomination “Breakthrough Solution of the Year” for the joint development of a novel, efficient process to produce higher grade magnetite concentrate, which was implemented within the pilot concentrate beneficiation facility of Mikhailovsky GOK. The unique process integrating up-to-date technologies in fine grinding, screening, and reverse flotation as well as other specific process solutions allows the high-grade concentrate to be obtained with 71% iron grade and at 16.4 Mtpa productive capacity.
Moreover, this process was recognized at the contest of digital transformation cases and breakthrough technologies for companies of mining, processing and metallurgical sphere – MINEXcellence.
Institute TOMS performed an extended scope of works for implementation of the pilot concentrate beneficiation facility at Mikhailovsky GOK including research and testing efforts, development of a process design basis document, basic design documentation with getting approval in respective expert appraisals, detailed design documentation, and designer’s field supervision.
